Support for NYCHA in the Interim

While new homes are being built for the community, Essence Development and Related Companies are providing supplemental support for NYCHA to bring additional resources, improvements, and general enhancements to Fulton and Elliott-Chelsea Houses to help improve current living conditions for residents. NYCHA will continue to own the existing buildings, but the collaboration between the three organizations will provide more expedient and effective services for residents during this transition.

Resident Engagement, Communication, and Resources

Housing Opportunities Unlimited (HOU) will continue to have staff on-site daily to work with residents to ensure they are informed of the development process and assist them with any questions during this time.

In-Unit Work Orders

Residents will continue to report issues and submit work orders to NYCHA, with additional support provided to NYCHA’s management team to ensure faster response and documented completion.

Resident Feedback

After the completion of in-unit work, NYCHA will issue surveys to gather resident input and ensure resident needs are being met. These surveys will provide an opportunity for residents to share concerns about the repairs before the work order is officially closed, helping to serve the residents of Fulton and Elliott-Chelsea better.
